Kidney stones - which food?




Urine incur in the kidneys. Kidneys extract from the body harmful substances that occur when matter changes. Harmful substances are mainly uric acid and urea itself. In a minute through the kidney passes 1 - 1.5 lit. of blood, which they clear, so that the harmful substances are separated, and all the others are going back into the bloodstream.

Kidney stones, which usually consist of calcium, are obstacles that can cause inflammation and damage.
Kidneys are important for filtration of waste products from the blood. Kidney stones have about 10% of all men and 3% of women.
It is recommended to eat foods rich with potassium (dried apricots, yogurt, orange juice), calcium (non fat dairy products, almonds, sardines), drink plenty of water and eat less protein of animal origin.
